Star wide receiver Rashee Rice was held out of the Kansas City Chiefs' first practice session in Week 6 ahead of the team's rivalry matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on October 18.
Rice sustained a hamstring injury during Kansas City's Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. His status was unclear during the Chiefs' Week 5 bye, and after missing Kansas City's latest workouts, Rice's availability for the team's upcoming tilt with Los Angeles is officially in question.
Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen shared an official update on Rice's status in a post to his official Twitter account on October 14:
Rashee Rice (hamstring) won’t practice for the Chiefs today, per Coach Reid. Josh Simmons (back) will practice. Coach added that they’ll
ease him back in.

Through four games with Kansas City this season, Rice has tallied 13 receptions for 190 yards and one touchdown as the top wide receiver on the Chiefs' depth chart.
If Rice misses Kansas City's Week 6 matchup against the Chargers, head coach Andy Reid will expect pass-catchers Cyrus Allen, Jalen Royals, and Nikko Remigio to play more prominent roles in the Chiefs' air attack.
