Offensive linemen Kingsley Suamataia and Trey Smith both made cryptic posts to their Instagram accounts after the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Suamataia was benched by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid in a move that the long-tenured skipper insisted was not a "punishment" of the 2024 second-round pick.
Smith's performance in the game was relatively average, and he was notably involved in the contest's final play, wherein he caught an errant and desperately thrown pass from Patrick Mahomes and attempted to score on a play that would have been flagged, had the two-time MVP not been ruled down by contact just before he let the ball go.

The exact context behind the posts' messages is unclear, but
screenshots of the cryptic Instagram stories seem to indicate that Smith was the first to post the text-based missive reading "ONLY FOOLS ARE JEALOUS OF THEIR OWN FRIENDS. I PRAY ALL OF MINE SUCCEED," before Suamataia re-shared the slogan and added "If u hating than u a distraction! Don't bother," punctuated with a person walking emoji.
