Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently spoke with reporters about his history with Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton ahead of their Week 1 matchup.
"I mean, we're (Sean Payton) cordial. We've known each other a long time, but we're both competitive guys and want our teams to do the best, and we both understand that," said Reid. "So, we know we're going to get each other's best shot, and we're blessed to have good teams."
The Broncos won the AFC West last season, ending the Chiefs' decade of dominance in the division. Denver fell one game short of the Super Bowl, but Reid made it clear he respects them and isn't worried about last year's results.
"Yeah, it doesn't look like they lost too many guys, and so there's some continuity there,"
said Reid. "They play hard, and they've got good schemes, good coaches. That's what I see."
Denver swept the Chiefs last season, with one of Kansas City's losses coming after Patrick Mahomes' season-ending injury.
