The countdown to the official roster deadline is on as the Kansas City Chiefs continue trimming personnel while looking for other ways to improve the roster.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Baltimore Ravens are trading offensive lineman Diego Pounds to the Chiefs. The undrafted free agent from Ole Miss was ranked as one of Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded rookies this preseason. The 330-pound protector has a high upside and helps reinforce depth for Kansas City’s offensive line.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, compensation in this trade is contingent on the picks that Kansas City has available at the end of the season; it could result in either a Day 3 2027 pick or a Day 3 2028 pick.
Pounds transferred from North Carolina to Ole Miss before the 2024 season. During his senior year in 2025, he started 15 games at left tackle and earned third-team All-SEC honors. Pounds finished his college football career with 46 games played, 32 starts, and an invitation to the 2026 East–West Shrine Bowl.
The Chiefs recently acquired offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu to add more depth as the roster shuffling continues heading into tomorrow’s deadline.
