Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters on Monday to evaluate Patrick Mahomes and the offense after 2 games.
"Yeah, I thought (Patrick Mahomes) he did a nice job of getting the ball out on time. He made quite a few line-of-scrimmage checks and did a nice job," said Reid. "He was accurate with those. Just overall, I thought he played a good football game; the numbers show that, but also the little things that he did in there, I thought we're good, mixing up the snap count and so on."
Mahomes completed 32 of 47 attempts (68.1%) for 382 yards and 3 touchdowns with a 114.0 rating in Sunday's win. Reid also praised the offensive line and others on the unit.
"Yeah, I like the aggressiveness of the offensive line. It wasn't all perfect,
but the guys played hard there," said Reid. "I thought when the receivers were asked to get in there and block, they did that along with the tight ends, and then we did a pretty good job in the pass game of getting guys open. The guys work their tail off to get over; this team plays a lot of man (coverage), and even within their zone (coverage), there's a lot of man. So, to be able to get themselves open takes a big effort by them and that.
Kenneth Walker was dominant for the second consecutive week, finishing with over 100 yards rushing and making plays as a receiver.
"Our runners – we've got two guys that were in there that made positive yards, and the part that kind of (Kenneth) Kenny (Walker) the part that gets put aside is 60 or whatever yards he had catching the ball," said Reid, "so he had over a hundred yards running it and then another, I don't know the exact number but 60ish number catching the ball."
Kansas City's offense has taken a step forward in the 2026 season, scoring over 30 points in both games.
