Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy spoke with reporters on Thursday. He highlighted rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen's progress this season.
"I think Cyrus (Allen)—first of all, I thought Cyrus played a good game. Obviously, he could have been better in a number of ways, but overall, he played good because he went out there; he played with great confidence. He plays fast," said Bieniemy. "He did a heck of a job in the run game. Now, when it's all said and done, when I think I do this each and every week, I think every receiver can clean up all the route details. I think there's a lesson to be learned with that, but overall, I think Cyrus has taken the necessary steps to help himself moving forward."
The Chiefs are battling
wide receiver injuries, with Tyquan Thornton out for the rest of the season and Rashee Rice missing two games with a hamstring issue. Allen has seen more time alongside Xavier Worthy and Jalen Royals, while veteran Justin Watson has seen action after being elevated from the practice squad.
Allen has recorded 3 receptions for 45 yards in 6 games this season.
