Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently spoke with reporters about the Week 3 offensive performances of starters Kenneth Walker III and Rashee Rice in the win over the Miami Dolphins.
"Yeah, I thought we handled the pass game pretty good. We didn't have a ton of plays, so we were in the 40s on that, and normally you're up a little higher in the 60, 70 area," said Reid. "But I thought the way it balanced out, (Kenneth Walker) K9 was still able to have a productive day in the run game and pass game. But it opened up some things in the pass game that we were able to take advantage of with some bigger plays."
Walker recorded 70 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown on 18 carries while adding three receiving yards on two receptions and one receiving touchdown.
He now has 109 carries for 10+ yards since entering the NFL in 2022, including 10 in 2026, which ranks third in the NFL. Rice also played well, aside from a costly drop that deflected into an interception.
"Yeah, it was good to see (Rashee Rice) him get a couple catches in there that were physical, good, strong catches," said Reid. "He's so good with the ball after he gets it and so physical that he adds another dimension to that. He's almost like having a running back at a wide receiver spot where when he gets it, he's going to bring it, and that's always good."
Rice led all pass catchers with seven receptions for 88 yards. Since he entered the league in 2023, Rice has recorded eight games with at least seven receptions and 80+ receiving yards, tied for the most of any Chiefs player in that span.
