The Kansas City Chiefs have officially placed rookie tight end John Michael Gyllenborg on their injured reserve list.
A former Wyoming Cowboys standout in the NCAA, Gyllenborg is a local product who attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City and was expected to fight for a spot behind Travis Kelce on the Chiefs' depth chart.
Earlier in the day, Kansas City's front office also placed second-year defensive lineman Ethan Downs on its injured reserve list, further depleting the Chiefs' depth as training camp gets underway at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri.

While Gyllenborg won't be able to participate in practices with his teammates at Chiefs training camp, fans in Kansas City should expect him to continue fighting for a roster spot when he returns from his injury.
