The Kansas City Chiefs signed veteran fullback Ben VanSumeren to their practice squad on August 31 after he was waived by the Buffalo Bills at the conclusion of the 2026 NFL preseason.
A native of Bay City, Michigan, VanSumeren rose to prominence in the college ranks with the Michigan Wolverines
and Michigan State Spartans and began his career in professional football as an undrafted free agent in 2023.After spending three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2023 to 2025. VanSumeren signed with the Bills on April 29, 2026, before his unceremonious departure this week.

While it remains to be seen if VanSumeren will force himself onto the Chiefs' 53-man roster in the regular season, head coach Andy Reid has historically been fond of fullbacks, so fans shouldn't be surprised if they see Kansas City feature the ex-Bill at some point in 2026.
