According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Kansas City Chiefs released veteran defensive back Tanner McCalister ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on 'Sunday Night Football.'
McCalister, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns
in 2023, had signed with Kansas City in February after brief stints with the Chiefs, New York Jets, and Denver Broncos last season.The former Ohio State Buckeye is now set to become a free agent and should have no problem finding work as teams around the NFL contend with injuries in their defensive backfields.
