The last week or so has been very eventful for the Cleveland Browns since they named Deshaun Watson the starting quarterback. Many questions remain about what the front office will do with the remaining three quarterbacks as the deadline to cut to the 53-man limit approaches. Head coach Todd Monken may have given us some insight into their plans.
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi states that Monken has a plan at quarterback for the preseason finale against New England. The plan is to sit all the starters and sit Shedeur Sanders as well. It looks like Dillon Gabriel and rookie Taylen Green will be splitting time against the Patriots.
So, how does this indicate what the plan is?
NFL teams often roll out quarterbacks in the preseason so other teams can get a good
look for potential trades. And, seeing how Green is a rookie with immense upside, it sounds like the odd man out is going to be Gabriel. The former third-round pick lost out last season to Sanders and could be on his way to a new home in the coming days.
