The Browns' defense has left the way in 2026 and is a major reason why they are now sitting atop the AFC North. Two of the key players on that side of the ball have been dealing with injuries: defensive lineman Mason Graham and linebacker Carson Schwesinger. Heading into Week 6, both players were hoping to play, and only Schwesinger was able to make it on the field.
But as head coach Todd Monken explained after their win on Sunday, we almost didn't get to see either player.
Monken shared, "And Carson, what's interesting early in the week the trainers were semi-optimistic. But they said, 'well it's Carson.' And every time I'd see Carson and I'd ask him, he'd get this silly smirk on his face like 'do you know who you're talking to.'"
Schwesinger
has done it all for this defense in 2026, and his playstyle seemingly reflects his personality that we don't always get to see. He is playing at an All-Pro level this year, even while injured, and the Browns need to see that continue for him if they want to stay atop the AFC North.
