The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round picks, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new quarterback in Arch Manning out of Texas. He has not played up to his potential in 2026, but that isn't stopping folks from being optimistic regarding the tools he has.
Easterling explains the Manning pick, writing, "I’ll be honest: I haven’t seen a first-round prospect
in Manning up to this point, but if any team is still going to take a swing on him in that range, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Browns ended up volunteering. I understand the upside based on some of the flashes we’ve seen from him, but Manning is still chasing consistency, and has yet to live up to the hype. In Cleveland, he would have a talented group of playmakers at his disposal, which could help get the most out of his potential."
With the Browns' second pick of the first round in the mock, they landed Alabama edge rusher Yhonzae Pierre. The two talents from the SEC come to positions that need a spark plug, and both could be perfect in providing it.
