Things have been going well for the Cleveland Browns this season. Despite entering the year in what was viewed as a rebuild, they are currently 5-3 and in the thick of a playoff hunt.
This surge forward has been driven mainly by first- and second-year players. The young core is looking like it can lead the Browns to the playoffs; if not this year, then in the near future. It’s hard to be critical of many of the moves this front office has made in recent months.
One notable move recently was the trade of former first-round pick Greg Newsome. He was traded to Jacksonville in exchange for Tyson Campbell, who has become an important part of this secondary. After the Jaguars let Newsome sign with the New York Giants in the offseason, it seems like
the Browns had undoubtedly won the trade.
However, Newsome has made a strong impression on his new team. As a result, the Giants decided to extend him beyond the one-year deal he had initially signed.

Newsome spent four full years with the Browns after being the 26th overall pick in 2021. Ultimately, the team decided it was time to part ways, and it is a deal that has worked out well for both parties.
