The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round picks, but a lot could happen in the next 7 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
Bleacher Report recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a quarterback and edge rusher, a popular pairing of picks. The quarterback they draft first in Austin Simmons out of Missouri. The second pick of the first round they go with is Ohio State's Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
They explain the Jackson, writing, "With quarterback already addressed, the Cleveland
Browns can shift their attention to another premium position. Jared Verse became the critical component to ensure the Myles Garrett trade was completed. With Isaiah McGuire set to hit free agency and Alex Wright coming off a ruptured Achilles tendon, the Browns can draft Ohio State's Kenyatta Jackson Jr. to provide Verse with an every-down bookend."
Jackson pairing with Jared Verse would give the Browns a fun pair of young pass rushers to develop together. For Jackson especially, he will enjoy not having all the attention on him, which could have him make an impact right away.
