The Cleveland Browns enjoyed the presence and play of Myles Garrett for nine seasons. When he was traded, Garrett was very graceful and thankful to Cleveland with a full-page ad and a consistent message of thanks. This past weekend, he shared one more message and reaction to all of it.
During a sit-down interview with ESPN, Garrett opened up about his raw reaction to being traded away this offseason to the Los Angeles Rams, as well as sending a message to a former teammate in Nick Chubb.
Chubb announced his retirement earlier this month from the NFL and Garrett played with him during his entire time with the Browns. On the note of his retirement, Garrett shared, "I'd be remiss if I didn't speak on the retirement of Nick Chubb, who was one of my
compatriots. . .It hit me hard. I wish we could have done more and accomplished more, but, uh, you know, I'll feel glad to have been able to watch him out on that field and be with someone as great as him.”
Chubb and Garrett were a part of a culture change in Cleveland that saw them win their first playoff game in decades. While they never won a Super Bowl, the connection will always share was paramount when hearing Garrett speak about him.
