The Cleveland Browns opted to keep Dillon Gabriel around as they look to have depth at the quarterback position. He had a quiet preseason until the finale, where he came in and showed out.
He passed for 186 yards on 12 completions and threw three touchdowns in the process. That performance, paired with his mental ability, is what kept him around. After the preseason finale, Browns head coach Todd Monken opened up about what he likes so much in Gabriel's game.
Monken shared, "He can really operate. He gets it; he gets what we want to do. He has a certain confidence about him when he takes the field … it's like having a coach."
While it may take some time for him to contribute, due to being placed on injured reserve. But in the meantime, that coach
example that Gabriel gave is going to shine through with the quarterbacks on the roster.
