The Cleveland Browns did it. In primetime, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Browns held onto the win and are now atop the AFC North. And not only are they the leaders in the AFC North, but they are also the sole leader, which hasn't happened since 2014.
But all of that is in the past; we are on to Week 5 just as they are. Waiting for them is an underrated New York Jets team coming off a tough loss to the Chicago Bears, where they were dominated in every facet. That now means they have a chance to make their lives a bit more miserable, or be caught in their bounce-back.
Either way, this is going to be a tougher matchup than many expect. As such, we want to look at the Browns' offense and what the keys will be when they face off against the Jets.
Get KC Concepcion involved early
KC Concepcion has shown that every time he touches the ball he can make a play. The Browns used him in a simpler fashion, having him work the flats and the middle of the field and letting him create from there. Against the Jets, Concepcion can take advantage of them with his speed and get to the second and third level to give the offense chunk yards. He has slowly been more and more involved, but he is overdue for having more of an impact than he has.
Quinshon Judkins becomes a dual-threat
Quinshon Judkins can be a dual-threat running back out of the backfield for the Browns. The offense has more of a rhythm when they get him more heavily involved in the games. The Jets' front seven can have their moments of toughness, but Judkins has the skill set to get the best of them. The Browns should look to get him the ball close to 20-25 times in Week 5 and allow them to control time of possesion in the process.
Deshaun Watson to play a complete game
Deshaun Watson is due for a complete game, and I believe that comes in Week 5. The Jets' offense couldn't stop a nosebleed in Week 4 against the Bears and Tyson Bagent. Todd Monken should be able to look at what they had worked on and implement it with the skill players and Watson. If they do not, it would be beyond disappointing, as this seems like a real momentum-building moment for Watson and the whole offense.
