The Cleveland Browns have stunned the NFL world by starting the year 3-1, sitting atop the AFC North. Many picked the Browns to finish last in the division, ultimately picking toward the top of the 2027 NFL Draft. Instead, they are in a playoff spot as of early October. What one sentence would be used to describe the Browns' month of September?
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report gave one sentence to describe every team's first month of the year, and here is what he had for Cleveland:
They've been competitive more often than not, which could hurt the rebuild on paper but is a good omen regarding the new regime.
This was supposed to be a rebuilding team, but given the success through the first four weeks of the season, plus the rejuvenated fan base,
they are not likely to stand pat if this team is competitive come the trade deadline on November 10th. We will see how long this string of late-game heroics can last, or if they can put together a full four quarters of football. But for right now, things are looking up in Cleveland.
