The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round picks, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.

College football season is officially underway, but now so is the NFL season. The Browns showed a lot in Week 3, winning their home opener and their second straight game of the season. With that in mind, let's dive into a 3-round 2027 NFL Mock Draft for the Browns.
Round 1: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

Trinidad Chambliss is having the most special season of any player in college football in 2026. Despite losing in The Swamp this weekend, he showed fight, he showed spirit, and did everything he could to help his team win. He plays complete games, he is a dual-threat, and his arm allows him to make throws all over the field. The Browns need a playmaker at quarterback, someone who can lead them to wins before the fourth quarter. Chambliss, I believe, can do that.
Round 1: Sammy Brown, LB, Clemson
The Browns' linebacker group has a star in Carson Schwesinger, but he needs help. Sammy Brown is a player similar to Schwesinger and would allow the middle of the field to be better defended. We have seen them being susceptible to plays by tight ends and running backs once they get to the second level, and that needs to be fixed. Defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg has done a great job with this defense, but Brown being installed would make sense.
Round 2: Ashton Hampton, CB, Clemson
The Browns' secondary has shown to be thin in 2026. With Tyson Campbell out for a stretch now, the secondary has been exposed when quarterbacks target whichever side of the field that Denzel Ward is not on. Ashton Hampton is a big body with good instincts to help improve the secondary. The AFC North has a lot of big wide receivers and tight ends who can play in the slot, so Hampton can help with the depth and coverage issues they are facing.
Round 3: Will Heldt, Edge, Clemson
Will Heldt is a fun pass rusher who can be a rotational piece for the Browns. They have Isaiah McGuire and Maliek Collins, whom they like, and we imagine one comes back in free agency this offseason, and Heldt could replace the other. They need to maintain their edge rusher depth, as we have seen that the teams that contend for Super Bowls are the ones who have a deep rotation.

Another riser in the draft community is also in Mississippi; he is just in Starkville, compared to Oxford like Chambliss. Bothwell transferred from South Alabama to Mississippi State and has been reaping the benefits. He has been a homerun threat at times, and a goal-line power back in others. He doesn't do anything extremely well, but he is efficient and could help the backfield out.
