He was fined $12,537 for what they described as unnecessary roughness during the first preseason game against the Chicago Bears

. Howard got a 15-yard penalty for tripping on the play he was fined for. Pro Football Talk reported the news of the fine.

Howard is in his first year with the Browns after being traded from the Houston Texans for a fifth-round pick.

He is one piece of an offensive line that has four new starters in 2026. Howard is joined by top draft pick Spencer Fano, who plays the opposite tackle spot. The interior is made up of Teven Jenkins, Zion Johnson, and
