After wins over the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they now host their biggest rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The winner of the game will be the early leader in the clubhouse for AFC North supremacy.
However, something else will draw a lot of eyes during the game: penalties.
The Browns have been one of the more undisciplined teams in the NFL going back to the preseason. Head coach Todd Monken knows it can't remain that way if they want to keep enjoying the momentum they have. While speaking to the media this week, he discussed their penalties from Sunday's win.
"We had no excuses. We were at home. I mean, that's embarrassing. We got to get fixed in a hurry."
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi added some context to how bad things were on Sunday
by sharing, "The Browns were flagged for 14 penalties, including declined flags, in their Week 3 win over the Panthers. It was the most in a game for Cleveland since a Week 6 win over the 49ers in the 2023 season."
Heading into Thursday's game, the Browns have been called for 34 penalties. They will be at home again; they will have high expectations again. Can they cut down on the penalties? The result of the game could be the answer to this question come Thursday night.
