These Cleveland Browns rookie wide receivers have been performing very well through five weeks of the season. Denzel Boston has received the majority of the praise for his performances, but KC Concepcion has been coming on quickly. However, he would leave Sunday's game against the New York Jets with a concussion after a nasty hit.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, while speaking to the media following their 17-12 win over Cleveland, shared his thoughts on the hit:
"Listen, I think Minkah initially tried to go with the shoulder and just like always, I mean, sometimes you say offensive guy might put their head down. It's not like he tried to do it or the offensive guy tried.
"It's just some of those things that happen in a bang bang situation and they're
tough to call, they really are. I do know this: Minka's not a dirty player. He's never been a dirty player. And, listen, Conception, man, I'm glad to see him get up and be able to walk off the field like he did. But, no, I don't think Minka is a dirty player at all."
The NFL plays at such a high speed that we can understand the potential intent of leaning with the shoulder, even if the result showed otherwise. Thankfully, Concepcion did walk off the field under his own power, and we will wait to see his status for Sunday's divisional tilt with the Baltimore Ravens.
