The Cleveland Browns host the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, in the first of their two meetings this season. Cleveland looks to rebound after their 17-12 loss at the New York Jets last week. For Baltimore, they have won three in a row, most recently beating the Tennessee Titans last week 24-18. Here are three key matchups to watch out for this Sunday.
Derrick Henry vs. Cleveland's front seven
Derrick Henry is among the best running backs in the NFL, full stop. The Browns are going to have their hands full this Sunday, as they look to contain the future Hall of Famer. Cleveland ranks 18th in rush defense this year, but has allowed only one touchdown on the ground. If Cleveland wants to remain competitive, they will need to limit the explosive plays from Henry.
Browns receivers vs. Ravens secondary
The Ravens rank 18th in pass
defense, allowing 223.6 yards per game. Cleveland will need to leverage their explosive rookie wide receivers. Cleveland may rank 31st in passing offense this year, but either Denzel Boston or KC Concepcion can explode for a big play at any given moment. One of these two will need to step up and have a breakout game to keep Cleveland alive.
Browns pass rush vs. Ravens offensive line
The Cleveland Browns' pass rush has come alive in recent weeks, which has been a sight for sore eyes. Over the last three weeks, the Browns have 12.0 sacks over the last four weeks, with 9.0 in the last two. Mason Graham has done the heavy lifting, while we wait for Jared Verse to get up to speed in this defense. Baltimore has allowed just 11 sacks this season; what is going to give first?
