Former wide receiver James Proche cashed in on his Tuesday record, signing with the Cleveland Browns practice squad following his workout with the team in Berea. It was one of several moves the Browns made with their practice squad on Tuesday when they added two players, including Proche, and released three players.
In addition to adding Proche to the practice squad, the team added more depth to the defensive tackle room by signing Chris Williams as well. Williams is more of a pass-rushing defensive tackle than he is a run defender; he struggles against the run and has had a little bit of success rushing the passer in his limited playing time during his career.
In addition to adding those two players to the practice squad, the team released the following
players from the practice squad: running back Eric Gray, punter Wes Pahl, and offensive tackle Xavier Truss. The team gets back to the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for the New York Jets this weekend.
