We see rookies enter the league and become instant contributors more and more over the years. Rookies used to come in, get their feet wet learning the playbook, and really start making an impact in year two. However, the quality of players coming out of college is only getting better, so we are going to see more players like Denzel Boston, who have shone as rookies.
While speaking to the media yesterday, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson sang the praises of Boston, applauding his desire to put in the work:
"He's been a guy that's came in from day one, just ready to work. Whatever preparation he had before coming into the league, it really helped him. He was ready for this opportunity and he's been trying to find ways to get better. And
regardless if he's talking to Jerry, talking to other people that have experience around the league, he's doing a heck of a job of just making sure that he's finding ways to get better and ready for those opportunities."

Boston is first in yards and second in receptions among all rookies this season, and his 21.8 yards per catch ranks second among qualifying receivers in the NFL. He and fellow rookie KC Concepcion have flashed so far in 2026, and it will be exciting to continue to watch them develop.
