The Cleveland Browns' calling card in 2026, like last year, will be their defense. This defense, despite losing Myles Garrett in a trade this offseason, is still loaded with talent, especially after they got talented pass rusher Jared Verse back from the Rams. One crucial piece to this defensive line is Maliek Collins, who has been sidelined with a torn quad suffered last season in Week 13.
Good news came to the organization, as head coach Todd Monken told reporters that Collins should be "ready to go" for their week one matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Collins has been penciled in to play opposite talented young defensive tackle Mason Graham, whom the Browns drafted fifth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Collins signed a two-year, $20 million deal last offseason after spending 2024 with the San Francisco 49ers. Collins has bounced around the NFL since entering the league in 2016, as he has played for the Cowboys, Raiders, Texans, and 49ers before calling Cleveland home. He was enjoying a career year last season with 6.5 sacks before the injury, and will look to repeat this level of performance in 2026.
