What is the story about?

Thursday’s injury report brought positive developments for the Cleveland Browns as they prepare to travel to Acrisure Stadium for a Week 8 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While no new players were added to the report, three key contributors earned upgrades, highlighted by edge rusher Jared Verse and center Elgton Jenkins returning to practice, and tailback Dylan Sampson taking another step forward.

Here is Thursday's updated practice participation breakdown for Week 8.

Did not participate

Right Tackle Tytus Howard (Concussion)

Starting right tackle Tytus Howard was the lone absence on Thursday as he remains in concussion protocol. If he cannot clear the protocol by Sunday, we should expect Dawand Jones to start in his stead.

Limited practice

Safety Grant Delpit (Neck)
Defensive Tackle Mason Graham (Ankle)
Defensive Tackle Mike Hall Jr. (Ankle)
Cornerback Myles Harden (Hamstring)
Center Elgton Jenkins (Knee)
Linebacker Carson Schwesinger (Ankle)
Defensive Back Daniel Thomas (Ankle)
Defensive End Jared Verse (Knee)

Thursday provided major relief as two key starters upgraded from Wednesday’s

DNP list. Starting center Elgton Jenkins and rookie edge rusher Jared Verse both returned to the field in a limited capacity after sitting out Wednesday.

They join safety Grant Delpit, interior defensive tackles Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr., linebacker Carson Schwesinger, and defensive backs Myles Harden and Daniel Thomas, who all maintained their limited status.

Full participation

Running Back Dylan Sampson (Knee)

Sophomore running back Dylan Sampson upgraded from limited on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday, clearing any lingering concerns regarding his knee as he looks to provide firepower to the Cleveland backfield.

With 9 of the 10 listed players now practicing in some capacity, Friday’s final report and game status designations will set the stage for Sunday's divisional battle in Pittsburgh.
