Newest Cleveland Browns pass rusher Jared Verse brings a lot to the table. He is a young, budding star in the league who is a fierce pass rusher and has only improved in his two years in the league. However, his ability on the football field isn't even his best attribute.
Former college and Rams teammate Braden Fiske was asked what Cleveland is getting in their new pass rusher. He said, "Aside from how talented Jared was on the field, his best attribute was bringing people together. The way he was able to form a brotherhood, just his leadership."

Browns' Newest Pass Rusher, Jared Verse's leadership is his "best attribute"
Now, I don't necessarily buy into the fact that former EDGE rusher Myles Garrett lacked as a leader in the locker room, but it is very clear that Verse brings so much more to the table on that front.
Browns' fans have yet to be exposed to that side of Verse, but there have absolutely been clues. The first example of his leadership and his ability to connect came just 72 hours from the moment he was traded. After he was given the news from his head coach, Sean McVay, Verse wasted no time.
He was on the first cross-country flight from Los Angeles to Cleveland the next morning. When he landed, he went right into the facility to complete all of his medical tests and to get all of his gear. Then, just two days after he was traded, he was on the practice field competing and becoming a leader in the Browns' defensive line room.
It was truly impressive from the young star because that is actually the perfect way to handle the new situation. It is hard news to receive that you are being traded from a Super Bowl contender with a Hall-of-Fame quarterback to a team in a rebuild with the biggest quarterback question mark in the league. It didn't matter. He showed up, and that is very important.
That example directly correlates with what Fiske had to say about Verse. This is an example of leadership, teambuilding, communication, and chemistry creation. It's only one example, as of right now, but it is the perfect one.
Now, all of that is good, but it won't matter unless he is getting after the quarterback. That comes in about a month, but for now, Verse has checked all of the boxes for what the Browns could have only hoped they received in the trade.
