The Cleveland Browns are coming off a disappointing Week 5 loss to the New York Jets. They are now 3-2 but with a winning October, they could be closing in on a playoff appearance at season's end.
All of this is coming on the shoulders of Deshaun Watson after being named the starting quarterback before the season kicked off. Now, given the state of things, the man he beat out for that competition could be had via trade in Shedeur Sanders. The reporting by ESPN's Dan Graziano had him include the former starter for the Browns when discussing players who could be traded.
Graziano shared, “Shedeur Sanders could be interesting to teams looking for a developmental QB who needs a change of scenery."
Dillon Gabriel could be nearing a return, which would
make it tough for the team to keep four quarterbacks on the roster. Thus, who is the odd man out? It would make sense that it would be Sanders, given Gabriel is a fun backup to have behind Watson in 2026, and Sanders has trade value.
Someone will likely be the odd man out; it is just a matter of when, it seems.
