On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns improved their record to 5-2 after beating the Tennessee Titans. The win was a little bittersweet, as it was a nail-biting 27-24 score against a Titans team that has won just one game all season. However, wins are hard to come by in the NFL, and you don’t get extra credit for style points.
If you did extra credit, that might be reflected in the latest grade the Browns received in the John Breech of CBS Sports Week 7 grades. He scored Cleveland with a solid B in their win and actually gave the Titans a B- for a well-fought game.
Breech had this to say on the Browns' performance.
“The Browns topped 400 yards of offense for the first time this season, and if you combine that with how well this defense is playing, it's
starting to feel like the Browns might be a big part of the playoff conversation going forward.”
Even people outside the Midwest acknowledge that the Browns are building something this year. The defense has been consistently good, and the coaching has taken this team to unexpected heights. If the offense can continue to build on this momentum, then the playoff conversation will continue to gain traction.
