The Cleveland Browns will no longer have to worry about one key part of the Steelers' defense.
Late Wednesday night, The Ringer's Tom Pelissero reported
that the Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing a deal to send cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys. Porter had not played this season as he was dealing with a back injury. He had been ruled out for the team's Week 4 matchup with the Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns do not benefit from the trade directly, but not going against Porter anymore should help them twice a year now.
In his career, Porter played the Browns six times and racked up 27 tackles in the process. He provided excellent coverage and was the team's top cornerback since being drafted in the second round of the 2023
NFL Draft. He now heads to Dallas to get a fresh start, and the Steelers will be left looking for new help in their secondary against the Browns' passing attack.
