The Cleveland Browns would select Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston in round two, 39th overall, in the 2026 NFL Draft. The pick did confuse some at the time, as the Browns would take KC Concepcion 24th overall. It has become apparent that this may have been the smart pick, as both Boston and Concepcion have looked very good in preseason action, but what do the projections say about Boston?
Lance Zierlein, draft analyst for NFL.com, went through and did best- and worst-case scenarios for the rookies from the 2026 draft class. Here is what he has for Boston:
Best-case scenario: The big, toolsy wideout rides his strong camp performance into the season, immediately cementing himself as the go-to target on all three levels of the field.
Worst-case
scenario: Spotty quarterback play and issues separating against press coverage lead to an underwhelming Year 1. Boston grabs only one score and finishes with fewer than 500 receiving yards despite a strong snap count.
Projected stats: 52 catches for 681 yards, 5 TDs.
This would be a fairly solid rookie season, all things considered. Targets are going to have to be earned this year, with Concepcion there, along with Jerry Jeudy and second-year man Harold Fannin Jr. to boot. However, the Browns front office would likely take this from their second-round pick.
