Before the Cleveland Browns' preseason finale on Thursday night against the New England Patriots, the team made a roster decision in a crowded wide receiver room.
Former third-round pick wide receiver Cedric Tillman is being released by the Browns ahead of roster cutdowns. ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the news.
Over his three seasons with the Browns, Tillman appeared in 38 games, starting 19, and had a total of 71 receptions for 833 yards and five touchdowns. He struggled to stay healthy, and every time he started at a high level, an injury seemed to pop up and keep him from building on it or compiling much success, so the move doesn't come as a huge surprise.
The question now is who takes his roster spot. Does the local undrafted
free agent from last year, Luke Floriea, make the roster at the backend of the wide receiver room? Or could it be Gage Larvadain because of special teams, though he struggled as a returner last year holding onto the football?
