Earlier in the week, the Cleveland Browns activated second-year quarterback Dillon Gabriel from injured reserve, and they waived seventh-round rookie Carsen Ryan to make room for Gabriel on the active roster. The Browns
now have four quarterbacks on the roster, which isn't something you normally see; they'll likely make a move before the trade deadline to get back down to three on the 53-man roster.Tight end Carsen Ryan has cleared waivers, and the team has added him back to the practice squad after an empty spot opened up following Tuesday's practice squad moves. Ryan hasn't seen the field this year but is a strong candidate to get some snaps behind Harold Fannin Jr. as the team's second tight end if Blake Whiteheart were to suffer an injury.
The team could still use some help at the tight end position, specifically if they could find a more consistent blocking tight end option to help complement Fannin, who isn't a terrible blocker but is still his best when he is used as a weapon in the passing game.
