As the Cleveland Browns continue preparations for their Week 5 road trip to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, Thursday's practice report brought several notable shifts across the roster.
With an extended layoff following their Thursday night victory over Pittsburgh, the Browns saw key players make encouraging returns to the field, though new names hit the injury report and depth along the defensive interior was dealt another blow.
Here is Thursday's full practice participation breakdown for Week 5.
Did not participate
- Defensive Tackle Kalia Davis (Quad)
- Defensive Tackle Mason Graham (Knee, Ankle)
- Defensive Tackle Mike Hall Jr. (Ankle)
- Right Guard Teven Jenkins (Back)
- Wide Receiver Tylan Wallace (Knee)
The defensive line remains significantly thinned out. Rookie star Mason Graham sat out a second consecutive session with knee and ankle issues, alongside fellow interior pass rusher Mike Hall Jr..
Adding to the interior depth concerns, defensive
tackle Kalia Davis, who was limited on Wednesday after being activated off Injured Reserve, was downgraded to a DNP on Thursday as he manages his quad injury.
On offense, starting Guard Teven Jenkins remained sidelined with a lingering back injury, while wide receiver Tylan Wallace sat out again with a knee issue.
Limited practice
- Defensive End Derek Barnett (Ankle)
- Cornerback Mekhi Blackmon (Back)
- Tight End Carsen Ryan (Calf)
The defensive line did receive one boost on Thursday, as defensive end Derek Barnett upgraded from Wednesday's DNP to a limited participant as he works through an ankle injury.
However, two new names were added to the limited group. Cornerback Mekhi Blackmon was logged as a limited participant due to a back injury, and rookie tight end Carsen Ryan was limited with a calf issue.
Full participation

- Quarterback Dillon Gabriel (Back)
- Center Elgton Jenkins (Concussion)
The secondary and offense received major positive updates.
