The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round picks, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.
While we will always look at mock drafts from analysts around the space, we will also keep up with our Mock Draft Mondays here on Browns Wire.
College football season is officially underway, so we are seeing some stocks fluctuate, and even some new players being added to watch lists. With that in mind and the stage set, let's dive into a 3-Round 2027 NFL Mock Draft for the Browns.
Round 1: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

In the mock draft I did, the first three picks were Arch Manning, Dante Moore, and Darian Mensah. That took away all viable quarterback choices, so just like the actual NFL draft, I had to pivot. I could have gone with Dylan Stewart or Colin Simmons, but I instead went with the best player in the class: Jeremiah Smith. The Browns are loaded at wide receiver, but having Smith as a WR1, KC Concepcion, and Denzel Boston filling out the rest of the offense, it just makes sense. Jery Jeudy would be the odd man out, but that sorts itself out when his deal ends after the 2027 season.
Round 1: Drake Lindsey, QB, Minnesota
Drake Lindsey looked very good in the opening week against Eastern Illinois. Now, they, of course, are not a defensive powerhouse, but Lindsey still made some NFL throws in that game. He showcased good decision-making, smooth mechanics, and good velocity on his passes to make tight windows. I like Lindsey a lot as an NFL Draft prospect from the summer, and it remains after Week 1 of the college football season as well.

Greg Johnson looked very impressive, mauling defenders on the defensive front of Eastern Illinois in Week 1. He showcased his strength, movement ability, and awareness, all of which could easily have him in the first round of mock drafts. His falling due to position value to the beginning of day two of the draft isn't far-fetched, so the Browns land him here in this mock draft.
Round 3: John Henry Daley, Edge, Michigan
I made another pick here for the Browns, but after further review, I added another second to my thought process and went with John Henry Daley. In all seriousness, I like Henry Daley a lot as someone who can be a part of the rotation for the Browns' defensive front. He defends the run well, but that motor when he is rushing the passer is something else. He needs a pass rush plan, but coaching can teach that.

I discussed it in the prospect preview for the Notre Dame-Wisconsin game, and he delivered. The Colorado transfer fit right in with the Fighting Irish secondary, and he benefited from the lack of targets that Leonard Moore got. He capped off a great game with a pick-six that took the game out of reach for Wisconsin, and they never recovered. He is someone who would fit right into the Browns' secondary and benefit the same way he does now at Leonard Moore by playing alongside Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell.
