In the midst of preparing for a massive game against Texas this week, the Ohio State football program picked up a commitment from three-star tight end Luke Sohyda in the 2028 recruiting cycle.
Out of Canon-McMillan High School in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Sohyda is ranked as the No. 45 athlete and 521st overall prospect in the class of 2028 according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, if he's being identified by the Ohio State staff, there's a good chance that his stock will continue to rise because of the Buckeyes' nose for talent and development.
“The opportunity to play for the Buckeyes is huge for me,” Sohyda once told On3’s Steve Wiltfong after a visit to Ohio State. “I text Coach Kee almost daily. Definitely seems like a place
I can see myself ending up.”
Sohdya brings the total number of players committed to the 2028 class to five, joining five-star commits receiver Jett Harrison, quarterback Christopher Vargas, and defensive lineman Jameer Whyce, as well as four-star running back Elijah Newman-Hall.

It is still very early, but with the news of the commitment, Ohio State's class of 2028 is now ranked No. 2 overall according to the 247Sports Composite Team rankings.
