One of Ohio State's most prized recruits will be eligible to play high school football this fall, but with a small stipulation. Five-star receiver Jamier Brown will play his senior year but will miss the first two contests while serving a two-game suspension.
Brown's future was put in jeopardy after multiple transfers this past year. After being granted an exemption, Brown transferred from Huber Heights Wayne High School, just outside of Dayton, to Big Walnut High School just north of Columbus in the middle of the school year. It was there that Brown would go on to win three state championships in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 4x100 relay this past spring. However, a change of heart brought the Buckeye recruit back to Wayne.
There
was some speculation as to whether Brown would be able to suit up at all for the Wayne Warriors after a second transfer. However, the Dayton Daily News has confirmed that Brown will be eligible, and the two-game suspension is not related to transfer rules but to different OHSAA rules violations.
“The student-athlete who transferred back to Wayne did meet a transfer exception, but due to two unrelated infractions, he will miss the first two games of the regular season,” according to OHSAA Director of Communications Tim Stried. "He will be eligible to participate in Week 3.”
Stried also shared that the violations will be made public at next Thursday’s OHSAA Board of Directors meeting.

Brown will miss this week's opener vs. Fairfield and the following week vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier. He will return just in time to help his team when they face northeast Ohio powerhouse Lakewood St. Edward. Brown is the No. 1 recruit in the state of Ohio and the No. 25-ranked player nationally according to 247Sports composite rankings.
