Ohio State is on the board in the class of 2027 as top-20 wing Deng Ngor announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Thursday.
Ngor is ranked No. 19 in the Rivals rankings -- nearly 70 spots higher than any other ranking system. He picked Ohio State over a final list that included Duke, Washington and Florida. He visited Ohio State earlier this month and was expected to take visits to the remaining schools on his list throughout the rest of September.
Ngor is a 6-foot-8 wing whose versatility stands out on both sides of the ball.
“I would say I’m a versatile player who can dribble, pass, and shoot," he told Rivals. "I can also guard 1-4, and I’m very aggressive in the passing lanes. I can block shots, and I believe I have one of the highest motors
in the country.”
The Fort Erie (Ont.) International Academy prospect was one of the biggest risers this summer after he helped lead Canada to a Gold Medal in the U18 FIBA AmeriCup, averaging 10.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, while shooting 50 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three.
He played on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit in the summer and averaged 12 points a game.
