The margin is more or less gone for Ohio State when it comes to making it to Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship game and being considered for the College Football Playoff. It's possible to squeak in with one more loss, but it's unlikely.
It won't be easy starting Saturday to run the table, because a very talented Oregon team comes to Columbus, and it, too, would love to make a statement and still have an outside shot at putting some goals back on the table. There have already been some epic games between Lanning's Ducks and OSU head coach Ryan Day's Buckeyes, and we're about to be in store for another.
Lanning met with his local media on Monday to preview the game with Ohio State, and he had some very complimentary things to say about Day,
how well-coached the team is, the talent of Jeremiah Smith, and what quarterback Luke Fahey brings to the table. If you'd like to watch Lanning's press conference in its entirety, you can do so below, thanks to the GoDucks YouTube channel.
Ohio State and Oregon are set to kick things off at 3:30 p.m. ET, and we'll have plenty more through the week in the build-up of what will prove to be a very important game for the Buckeyes.
