A former Ohio State wide receiver has been ruled out for the rest of the season after transferring to Notre Dame earlier this year. Quincy Porter will undergo season-ending knee surgery to repair an injury that has been nagging him for most of 2026. Due to the injury, Porter has not seen any action for the Fighting Irish.
A five-star receiver coming out of high school, Porter signed with the Buckeyes as the No. 4 receiver in the 2025 class. Expectations were high for the New Jersey native; however, receiver is one position at Ohio State where you'll have to wait your turn, unless your name is Jeremiah Smith. Even though Porter was the first freshman to lose his black stripe in the spring of 2025, it didn't really translate into playing time.
He appeared in five games with the Buckeyes, recording four receptions for 59 yards. Porter decided to hit the transfer portal after just one season in Scarlet and Gray, choosing the Golden Domers.

While no one likes to lose time to injuries, the silver lining is that Porter is still young and should have plenty of playing days ahead of him.
