Ohio State went to Iowa City and got an all-important team-building win on the road in a tough environment against a top-15-ranked Iowa team. Things were tough in the first half, but the Buckeyes scored just before halftime and went on cruise control from there in a 31-14 victory.
Head coach Ryan Day was noticeably pleased by his team's performance in his postgame press conference, and who can blame him? Iowa was a sexy pick to pull off the upset Saturday, but came nowhere close to materializing. We always like to hear from the man wearing the headset after each game, and if you too are into that sort of thing, we have Day's complete postgame press conference for you to watch and listen to thanks to the WBNS 10TV YouTube channel.
Day touches on
the player and human being superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is, how well the defense played, his decision to write a heartfelt letter to kids in the Iowa children's hospital, and more.
Ohio State will now turn the page and prepare to host Maryland at home next Saturday. We'll have plenty on that one as the week progresses here at Buckeyes Wire.
