Expectations are high for the Buffalo Bills in 2026. Will it take some time for them to taste defeat during the 2026 NFL season, and if so, when?
CBS Sports predicted that the Bills will lose for the first time next season in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams.
If the Bills make it to Week 5 with an undefeated record, it will be a minor miracle,” CBS wrote. “Although Buffalo is one of the best teams in the NFL, the Bills open the season with games against the Texans, Lions, Chargers and Patriots in the first four weeks. If they somehow manage to survive that gauntlet, the Rams will be waiting in the wings to end Buffalo's undefeated run.”
Buffalo may suffer their first loss prior to Week 5, with the Texans boasting an elite defense that the Bills
will need to deal with on the road, the Lions posing a huge threat with their star-powered offense, the Chargers having many dangerous weapons on both offense and defense, and the Patriots being one of the most improved teams in the league after reaching the Super Bowl last season.
However, the Bills will also have the chance to show their strength against four legitimate Super Bowl contenders in undefeated fashion leading up to their matchup against the Rams on the road. Marching in to SoFi Stadium with momentum on their side will bode well for the Bills in Week 5. Extending their undefeated streak from that point forward will be possible as well, though their work will be cut out for them.
