After his production during the Buffalo Bills' 24-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3, edge defender Greg Rousseau in on pace to have the most sacks in a single NFL season.
Currently that honor is held by Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett, who put up 23 in 2025 with the Cleveland Browns.
After Rousseau's two sacks for the Bills (3-0) against the Chargers (0-3), he is on pace for 28 as his six sacks lead the NFL through Week 3.
That said, we're being tongue-and-cheek here. Rousseau is not expected to shatter, let alone break, Garrett's record.
But Rousseau has officially beaten a Pro Football Hall of Famer's numbers in once sense.
Bruce Smith, the best pass rusher ever found in Buffalo football and NFL history with his 200 career
sacks, saw his best-ever start to a season involve him registering five sacks. That means Rousseau has surpassed Smith's mark:

Rousseau has been a cornerstone for the Bills defense through three games. It's unlikely that he keeps this sack pace up, but Rousseau can keep up his momentum in the way that still affects a game for Buffalo.
Right now, defensive tackle Deone Walker is playing well in the middle of the D-line. Some weeks, these two could end up switching scripts.
And let's not forget, this defensive front has the likes of Ed Oliver and Bradley Chubb on it too.
The Bills look poised to cause problems throughout the 2026 season.
