The Buffalo Bills will host the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium on Sunday with an important win on the line. Come the end of the season, these early season AFC victories are handy to have
For this conference battle between Joe Brady's Bills (5-1) and Jesse Minter's Ravens (4-3), it will be the games, within the game, that will make all the difference.
Here are Bills Wire's three key matchup to watch between the Bills vs. Ravens matchup in Week 8:
DL Deone Walker vs. OL Andrew Vorhees
Walker has been a force in the middle of the Bills' defensive line and Vorhees has struggled with foot injuries. Their grades at Pro Football Focus show a stark difference as Walker ranks as the fifth-best defensive tackle in the NFL with an 80.4 mark and Vorhees sits at a lowly 47.2.
LB Terrel Bernard vs. RB Derrick Henry
While a lot of
eyes will be on quarterback Lamar Jackson who is set to start but Ravens running back Derrick Henry has had a lot of good games against the Bills in his career. Buffalo's defense hasn't done well this season, either.
Henry has had two regular season games vs. the Bills. He has 368 rushing yards and four touchdowns between those two. That's an insane stat line.
WR Keon Coleman vs. CB Nate Wiggins
The potential return of DJ Moore (shoulder) means Wiggins will probably follow Coleman around the field with Marlon Humphrey tracking Moore.
Coleman has had a few breakout games before the Bills' bye week. Comparatively, Wiggins is the better matchup for Buffalo's offense so Coleman has to step up. PFF grades Wiggins a 59.4 overall so far this season, good for just the 59th best receiver in football.
