Sunday is an enormous day for Joe Brady.
It will be his regular season debut as a NFL head coach when the Buffalo Bills visit the Houston Texans for a Week 1 matchup at Reliant Stadium.
Despite the huge occasion, Brady is expectedly downplaying the day ahead of kickoff. The coach said he does not expect to be emotional.
"No," Brady said. "I know we have a huge test for our guys this week. I need to be what they need me to be."
Brady not making the game about himself is the even-keeled approach. The Bills locker room has enough to worry about on the field.
The leader of those players in quarterback Josh Allen sees that mindset from his coach this week.
"No different than what it has been," Allen told reporters. "He's not approaching it any differently
from that aspect. He's preparing himself whether it's creating the game plan for us on offense, understanding the situation and what we could potentially be in. I think he's got this team prepared and ready to go."
