The Buffalo Bills have plenty of players to watch during their exhibition opener against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday at Highmark Stadium. That is the nature of the preseason, after all.
Joe Brady and his coaching staff will be watching everyone on the field for the Bills in their effort to get down to 53 total players before the start of the regular season.
Doing the same would be a lot of players and note taking for fans to do. So here's just a few to keep in mind.
Here are Bills Wire's five players to watch for during Week 1 of the preseason:
WR Keon Coleman
No one is under a spotlight more at Bills training camp than wide receiver Keon Coleman. It's a "make-or-break" season for Keon Coleman out wide in his own words. What does he bring for the first time
in 2026?
WR Skyler Bell
Coleman is battling for playing time in his own right but against veteran Josh Palmer. Bell could impress and steal playing time next season but he is a roster lock as a fourth-round rookie.
Regardless of where Bell ends up, he is still a promising prospect worth watching.
QB Josh Allen
Allen? Yes. Head coach Joe Brady indicated that starters will see playing time, even the quarterback. In the past, Allen and some first teamers did not play during the exhibition season at all.
Considering that, this is likely the only look we'll get at Allen before the regular season. Enjoy it while it lasts.
LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr
TJ Parker was Buffalo's top draft pick in 2026. However, it's Elarms-Orr who is impressing this summer. He is battling for playing time against Dorian Williams. Can the rookie stand out against the Panthers?
S Geno Stone
CJ Gardner-Johnson might not play because of multiple injuries he has sustained so far at training camp. Could that become a reoccurring issue? Hopefully not, but if Stone does impress, over Gardner-Johnson, he could put himself in the discussion for the starting safety position next to Cole Bishop.
