Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen may not have won the 2025 NFL MVP award, but he may be the most skilled player in the league at his position in several facets of the game.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky ranked some of the best quarterbacks in football, head-to-head, comparing individual characteristics in their game. Categories included:
- Arm strength
- Ball placement
- Mechanics
- Decision-making
- Pocket presence
- Second reaction
- Rushing ability
The Bills QB saw himself take top honors in a few of these.
Allen was named No. 1 overall in the league in arm strength, decision-making with the football, and second-reaction ability.
Allen also ranked in the top 10 in ball placement (No. 7), mechanics (No. 9), and rushing ability (No. 2).
Allen has a big arm, and makes elite decisions with the football. Whether he is in the pocket finding his receivers in all three phases
of the field or scrambling out of the pocket and making a variety of throws in a variety of fashions, Allen does it all.
The superstar quarterback has a sound dropback as well, and is fundamentally sound when throwing the ball. Allen is one of the most complete quarterbacks in the NFL and his game proves that.
