Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman gave onlookers a surprise during his team's practice on Tuesday. Following the Bills' 2026 preseason opener over the weekend against the Carolina Panthers, Coleman showed up with a walking boot to practice which drew attention.
It was unclear what had happened especially since Coleman did score a touchdown for the Bills in the 29-14 win.
Regardless, a report indicates and a Joe Brady update seemed to toss cold water on any fire. Buffalo's head coach in Brady did not seem overly concerned about Coleman's status.
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe has reported that Coleman just has a sprained foot and toe injury. The extent of the sprain was not reported, but Coleman has not broken a bone or sustained a long-term
issue, which is the important thing to note.
NFL Network included the thoughts of Brady as well in their latest update on the injury:
Coleman appears to be ahead of Josh Palmer on the depth for a starting position on Buffalo's offense across the DJ Moore. Khalil Shakir will be in the slot role once again for the offense led by quarterback Josh Allen.
Alongside his touchdown, Coleman finished his 2026 preseason debut with three catches on four targets for 17 yards.
